Like Father, Like Son

We are at the park this weekend. A 3 year old we didn't know comes up to my 2 year old.

Strange Kid: Hi, I am 3.

A: Blank Stare

Strange Kid: How old are you?

A: Blank Stare

Strange Kid: Can you talk yet?

A pauses: No.
He then turns around and walks off.

I guess he inherited his father's love for small talk.

That's funny-- in the aspect that my son would be the 3 year old. He goes up to anyone wanting to talk to them. Even back when he was 3 :)

No.

That is so wonderfully cool for being two!

Too cute! I see this around here also. Only my son (almost three) really does have trouble talking. But that doesn't discourage him from approaching anyone roughly his height, sticking his face in their's, smiling as big as he can and either roaring at them or saying hi (depending on the day). The poor children. He freightens so many! I will be so happy when he can walk up to them and actually carry on a conversation (whether they want to talk back or not :)

Aha! The strong silent type! Classic male manuever. Sadly most of the people here only have one word conversations too! Must be the Cro-Magnon heritage here though! LOL
